Maintance

I often get asked by my clients about how to properly maintain their static caravan holiday home. Maintaining your holiday home not only ensures that it stays in top condition, but it can also help to protect your investment.

One of the most important things to do is to regularly check and maintain the exterior of your holiday home. This includes checking the roof for any damage or leaks, cleaning the gutters, and making sure that the paintwork is in good condition. It's also important to check the windows and doors for any signs of wear and tear, and to make sure that they are properly sealed to keep out drafts.

Inside the holiday home, it's important to keep it clean and well-maintained. This includes regularly vacuuming and dusting, as well as deep cleaning the kitchen and bathroom. It's also a good idea to check the appliances and make sure that they are in good working order. If you notice any issues, it's important to address them as soon as possible to prevent further damage.

Another important aspect of holiday home maintenance is staying on top of any necessary repairs. If you notice any issues with the holiday home, it's important to get them fixed as soon as possible to prevent further damage. This can include everything from fixing a leaky faucet to replacing a broken window.

Overall, maintaining your static caravan holiday home requires a bit of time and effort, but it is well worth it in the long run. By keeping your holiday home clean and well-maintained, you can ensure that it stays in top condition and retains its value over time.

Remember, if you buy with us you get a 3 year warranty package including your yearly drain downs and exterior cleans.

Now what is a drain down?

A drain-down is a process that involves draining the water system in a static caravan. This is typically done in colder months when the caravan is not being used, in order to prevent pipes from freezing and bursting.

To perform a drain-down, you will need to turn off the water supply to the caravan and open all of the taps to allow the water to drain out. You may also need to flush the toilet and drain the water heater. Once all of the water has been drained out of the system, you should close all of the taps and open the valve on the external water inlet to allow any remaining water to drain out.

After the drain-down is complete, it's important to add antifreeze to the water system to prevent the pipes from freezing. This is typically done by adding antifreeze to the toilet and the waste water outlet, as well as to the cold water inlet.

It's important to note that a drain-down should only be performed by someone who is familiar with the process, as improper drain-down can result in damage to the water system. If you are unsure about how to perform a drain-down, it's best to seek guidance from a professional.

On our parks we do this for you at the end of each season.
